How to Fix Style Is Missing (after installing SSL)
Latest update: May 12, 2022 | Reading time: 1 to 2 minutesDid you recently switch to a secured protocol? Adding SSL to your WordPress site after activating the theme might cause issues. The most common is the missing style. In particular, the CMS can not locate the CSS file that is dynamically produced by the theme as it is published under a non-secure protocol (previous state). Thankfully, you can resolve this in a few clicks.
Here is what you need to do:
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > General
- Review WordPress Address (URL) & Site Address (URL) fields.
- Make sure that the domain name of your website is properly inserted in the fields. For example, if the original domain of your site was “http://mysite.org”, after the installation of SSL it should have become “https://mysite.org”
You need to add the correct address (that means, adding the “s” after “http”) and then Save changes
At this point, the website should appear as expected. If not, try a hard-refresh (keep the shift key while clicking on the recycle icon of your browser).
